Comments Needed on Proposed Regulations Released by NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation A recent email sent out by Printing Industries Alliance asked for members to comment on proposed revisions to Part 234-Graphic Arts. OSHA Recordkeeping On-Demand Webinar PIA safety-trainer extraordinaire, Jerry Banks, has developed a webinar that reviews the OSHA recordkeeping requirements associated with Form 300A. New Employee Notification Requirements in New York State As announced in a recent email sent to PIA members located in New York State, additional new employee wage notification requirements went into effect October 26, in New York State, whereby NY employers must provide new hires with written notification regarding wages, rates of pay and overtime rules. Revised (& Required) EEO Poster Now Available The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission just released a revised EEO is the Law poster that includes language regarding the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. Even if employers do not conduct genetic testing, the notice is still required of employers with 15+ employees. The employer provisions are effective 11/21/09. Download the new poster here.
NYS Printers: Quick Action Needed on Proposed NYS "Do Not Mail" Legislation: Two separate bills have been introduced into the New York State legislature, both of which will negatively impact the production of advertising mail, mail stream volume and ultimately, your company. Even if your company doesn't print material that is mailed, this issue is important to you and we need your participation.
